In Houston, voters will elect a new mayor. This is Houston Mayor Bill White's final term, and four people are trying to replace him. The latest estimats show that only about 25 percent of voters are expected to cast a ballot there.

In Friendswood, voters will decide whether to legalize alcohol in the city's downtown district.

In Santa Fe, voters have to choose whether to approve the city's first bond election. The $8.9 million bond would go to build a new police station, public service building and expand the city's library.

And voters across Texas will decide the fate of 11 state constitutional amendments (propositions).
